From Godavri to Kosi Part IV

Dear readers, I wrote Part III on last Sunday and writing again to continue the journey. I am not trying to rush things, just in a little hurry to  get the monkey off my back. Yes, this journey is like a monkey only, it keeps jumping in my head at regular intervals lest I forget it. So, the story goes on.... It was a  brightly lit night enveloped by milky-white moon in all its splendour when I had reached Brahmapur on 20th March, 2013. I was given king-like  reception by my dear friend Kunal. We talked, ate a lot and slept in Levis. Waking up was an assignment which  I hated in the early hours of 21st March. But, there was no option except moving my arse and going ahead.I woke up  around 0500 hrs., had a refreshing and large cup of tea, took bath, did some yogic postures to strengthen my back muscles. I became fit like a horse within few minutes of deep breathing exercises. I must thank Baba Ramdev for starting a yoga fitness wave in our country. It is ...

From Godavri to Kosi Part III

Dear readers, I always start writing by recalling my earlier blogs...actually remembering the dates of my last few blogs as it gives me a reference point to start my engine i.e. my brain veins which supply blood to my thought process who in turn force my nimble fingers to fight with keyboard of my old Laptop....ask any persons who hasn't learnt typing in a Typing Institute.....we literally fight with keyboard in an irregular pattern to express ourselves. I am using a laptop bought in 2007 which is still running like a horse...amazing, isn't it ! If you are using any older version then let me know or I am taking the liberty to declare my Laptop as Senior Citizen because it has withstood the assault of my robust hand since last 80 months........Fortunately Sunny Deol hasn't used his' Dhai Kilo Ka Hath' on my laptop. OK.....my point is proved, I just wanted to inform you about the historical importance of my tools in this writing marathon....yes writing a series...

From Godavari to Kosi Part II

Dear readers, It has been a while since I wrote first part of my story way back in March,2013. The reasons are strictly under my control. If needed , I can write a weekly column based upon my journeys all around the year. But, the fun will be missing. Believe it or not, I get phone calls from my dedicated  reader base to write more frequently but I believe in Vikram Seth line of writing. He published 'A Suitable Boy' in 1993  and is still looking for the story line of 'Á Suitable Girl '  since last 20 years. So, if he has the liberty to keep space between 02 books then why I shouldn't be allowed to do that. Anyway, nowadays, our government is spreading the message of spacing between 02 children to keep our population in control. The Family Welfare Department is one of the most redundant/useless  branch of our system of governance. It is criminal wastage of manpower/resources. They spend crores on teaching us about bedroom manners. WHY THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD INTE...

Journey of a lifetime : From Godavari to Kosi

A journey begins with an idea. Idea is to reach somewhere, do something, meet someone. It begins in a vacuum but takes shape based upon the potency of idea. Journey, in other words is  the sum total of travel undertaken by a living being to fulfill a purpose/promise.  Since, time immemorial, humans have been great travellers. It is no coincidence that some of the  great Indian thinkers e.g. Swami Vivekananda, Gandhijee, Tagore, Nehru, Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, were great travellers. They institutionalized their ideas through travelling inside India as well as on foreign shores. Imagine,Swami Vivekananda sitting several months in cramped and slow-moving Ships to reach Chicago to deliver “my dear brothers and sisters” philosophy. Now, Jet Airways can help you in eating breakfast in Mumbai and having dinner in Chicago on the same day.Isn’t this wonderful. But, hold your breath for now, sitting /sleeping comfortably in Business Class and inhaling purified a...
